Overview
Designed as an entry-level module, this course covers the basic, modern safety principles of risk assessment, duty of care and looks at specific areas of passenger safety.

Aim
That drivers and passenger assistants provide the correct level of safety during routine and emergency situations for all passengers.

Objectives
Carry out basic and informal risk assessments
Understand the meaning and implications of ‘duty of care'
Know about appropriate legislation and codes of practice
Eliminate or reduce risks to passengers to an acceptable level
Take correct action when faced with irresolvable risk
Take correct action to ensure passenger safety when boarding, alighting and travelling
Take correct action to ensure passenger safety in the event of road traffic collision, vehicle breakdown or vehicle fire
